Cockle Bay Kitchen
Curves, texture and serene colours are key design elements of the Cockle Bay Kitchen redesign by Melanie Sa’u. Plymasters' Milled Techno Veneer was chosen for this redesign for its ability to add texture and character to curved cabinetry with a simple application process.
The curved cabinetry and counter were a significant part of honouring the existing curves of this kitchen which was an important part of the refresh for the client.
Milled Techno Veneer has a curve radius of 150mm allowing it to be easily pressed onto the curved cabinetry. With a thin paper backing fixing is a simple process which can be done with a suitable adhesive spray. Easy installation ensures that the project can keep running smoothly with the reassurance of a high-quality end result.
Painted blue, the Milled Techno Veneer adds rich colour to the kitchen which creates a clean, calm space while the milled face adds depth and texture. Texture is an important design element which prevents spaces from feeling flat by adding contrast, meaning that the kitchen can have a simple, clean look without looking uninteresting.
Designer Maline Sa'u says that introducing Milled Techno Veneer paired with vertical finger tiles was key for introducing “texture and linear lines, enriching the overall aesthetic while maintaining harmony with the chosen color scheme."
